First, to determine the size you want your Custom
Boat lettering to be, measure the space available
where you would like the first letter to start and
the point at which you would like the last letter
to end. Most names can be condensed or expanded
to fit virtually any area.
When measuring check how much space is available
from top to bottom. Height measurement should account
for the lower case descending letters like "p,
g, q"
The application area where the boat lettering will
be installed should be smooth, flat and obstacle-free.
Coast Guard regulation requires that documented
boats have a hailing port and boat name in which
all letters area a minimum of 4" in height.
Hailing port must be ALL CAPITAL LETTERS.
Registration Numbers must be a minimum of 3"
tall, easy to read and in a contrasting color for
easy recognition. Be sure to refer to the regulations
which apply in your area for placement, type style
and color requirements.
